This project for the Christian Organisation Scripture Union of Kenya, incorporates hotel facilities and conferencing facilities in the busy Hurligham area in Nairobi. Incorporating environmental modernisms, inspired by aspects of Le Corbusier’s work, including elevating the entire building on ‘pilotis’ to allow for natural vegetation, and natural ventilation.
Huge swathes of glass are used in the public areas to enable unobstructed views and day lighting. The swimming pool is on the middle level deck, open to sky to enable residents to enjoy the fresh air in Nairobi.
The design incorporates 12 room types enabling repeat residents to enjoy variety of experiences. All conference rooms have been subjected to design for good acoustics.
